About Scouts

Supporting youth in achieving lifelong success!

Scouts in the Australian Capital Territory have an age-related progressive program that is unique - no other organisation offers such a diverse variety of activities and experiences across such a broad age-range.

Youth members from 6 - 25 years old and volunteers from 18+ years old can join at any stage of Scouting. They participate in programs that encourage them to grow through adventure by experiencing new challenges, making new friends, building confidence, taking responsibility for themselves, and being provided with opportunities to explore their own abilities and interests.

OUR PEOPLE

Scouts ACT is guided by a dynamic leadership team made up of dedicated volunteers, board members, patrons and staff.  Their shared focus is supporting both youth and adults across the ACT throughout their Scouting adventures, both locally and abroad.

OUR SCOUTS

Our Scouts are curious, capable and adventurous young people supported by both dedicated adult leaders and helpers.  Find out more on how to join your local Scout group below.

OUR STRATEGIC PLAN

Scouts ACT's 2024–2027 Strategic Plan outlines our organisational direction for the coming years, and the actions necessary to deliver our objectives. Strategic planning is essential to effective leadership and long-term growth as an organisation.

OUR HISTORY

Scouting was founded by Lord Robert Baden-Powell on 1st August 1907.  Not soon long after, Scouting spread throughout the world, with Scout Groups starting in Australia in 1908.
